Why do you have to rinse Konjac Noodles?

There are two different kinds of Konjac noodles in the market worldwide, one is reserved in liquid with calcium hydroxide, and  the other is in liquid with Citric Acid. These two versions are often suggested to drain the liquid and rinse under water before we cook it.

But why do we have to rinse Konjac noodles before we cook it?
