Introduction of shirataki powder

Shirataki powder comes from the yam of Konjac, which is a general term for plants belonging to the genus Amorphophallus of the family Araceae, also known as konnyaku or shirataki, ghost konjac, devil's tongue, voodoo lily, snake palm, and others. It mainly grows in the tropics and subtropics of the eastern hemisphere, with China being one of its places of origin. It grows in the mountainous areas of Sichuan, Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan, and other provinces. There are many types of konjac, with over 260 varieties worldwide. China and Japan are the two major konjac-producing countries, with a few Southeast Asian countries also cultivating it on a smaller scale.

Shirataki powder is a beneficial alkaline food. For those who consume an excess of acidic animal-based foods, pairing their diet with konjac can achieve an acid-base balance in food, which is beneficial for human health. It's an ideal food for vegetarians and individuals with hypertension, high blood sugar, or high cholesterol.

Eight major functions of Shirataki powder for the body

Detoxification

Its rich plant cellulose helps stimulate intestinal function and accelerates the excretion of harmful toxins, preventing and reducing the incidence of intestinal diseases.

Weight loss

Very low in calories, it provides dietary satisfaction without the risk of gaining weight, and can achieve a balanced diet and ideal weight loss without deliberate dieting.

Bowel movements

Rich in glucomannan, which effectively stimulates the intestinal walls and keeps the intestines clean, with significant effects against hemorrhoids (known in Japan as "intestinal scavenger" or "iron broom").

Stomach cleansing

A large amount of soluble dietary fiber promotes gastrointestinal motility, reducing the retention time of harmful substances in the stomach and bile tract, effectively protecting the gastric mucosa and cleaning the stomach wall.

Disease prevention and treatment

Natural glucomannan is fully validated by medical science to suppress cholesterol, lower blood lipids, reduce blood sugar, dilate blood vessels, and prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, with significant life-prolonging effects.

Diabetes prevention

Plant fibers in konjac have been medically proven to increase insulin in the blood and lower blood sugar levels, providing excellent adjunctive effects in controlling, preventing, and treating diabetes.

Salt balance

Konjac can regulate or balance the body's salt content (nutrition science proves that daily salt intake should be maintained below 10 grams).

Calcium supplementation

100 grams of natural konjac food contains about 43 milligrams of calcium; more importantly, the calcium content is highly soluble and easily absorbed by the body, making it a preferred choice for calcium supplementation.
