About Konjac

Konjac (Amorphophallus) is a perennial herb native to Asia, renowned for its high dietary fiber and versatile applications. With 260+ global varieties, including 19 unique species in China, konjac thrives in:

Climate: Warm, humid environments with semi-shaded conditions.

Soil: Rich in organic matter, pH 5.5–7.0.

Konjac thrives in warm, humid climates with partial shade. Different varieties have distinct altitude and soil preferences. For instance, Amorphophallus albus prefers low-altitude areas below 800m, is drought-tolerant, and abundant in Sichuan and Hunan. In contrast, Amorphophallus konjac prefers cool, medium to high-altitude locations and is found in Sichuan, Yunnan, and Shaanxi, often growing in forests, wetlands, or cultivated in various settings.

Top Reasons to Choose Konjac

Weight Management:

The underground tubers of konjac can be processed into various low-calorie foods, such as konjac tofu, keto ramen shirataki, and other noodles. Due to their low-calorie content (97% water, less than 10 calories per 100g), these konjac-based products are ideal for weight management. Try our Keto Shirataki Noodles for guilt-free meals.

Digestive Health:

Konjac is rich in dietary fiber, particularly glucomannan, which promotes gut motility, aids digestion, and facilitates bowel movements. It has a positive effect on preventing constipation and regulating blood lipids and blood sugar levels.

Diabetes Support:

The dietary fiber in konjac helps to lower the glycemic index, making it an ideal choice for those following diabetic-friendly diets. It supports blood sugar regulation as part of a healthy eating plan for individuals with diabetes.

The distribution of konjac varieties is mainly influenced by climatic factors (temperature, humidity, light), soil conditions (pH, fertility, structure), and altitude.
